To All:
When I was a young musician, I had a gig at North Dakota State.  After the show, I heard that Bobby was playing across town, so I went to catch the last set.  Afterward, he came over and someone introduced us and we had a warm but brief chat.   A couple of years later, I was in the Indianapolis airport and spotted him across the way.  When I went over to say, “You won’t remember me, but…”  Bobby smiled and said, “Thom, how have you been?”  Whatever we said after that was brief because I was all but speechless that he remembered my name.  What  lovely and gifted man.

Grace & Blessings,
Thom Bishop

My wife Nancy and I express our deepest sympathy to the entire family. To our friend Bobby rest in peace. You were one of the greatest highlights of our lives. From the CWC Christmas parties to the Christmas parties at St. Peter Ford. And then all the concerts we were privileged to attend. Each and every time you made us feel so welcome. We always felt that we were friends and we were so very proud to tell everyone that we knew you. No one could have asked for anything better than to have you be a part of our lives.

From: Claudia Fallert

I was so saddened to hear of Bobby Vee's death yesterday. He was really the first rock and roll singer I listened to. I was a mere 7 years old! I would listen through my brother's bedroom door. He eventually collected all of the albums at that time. Bobby may well be the reason I became a musician. I taught private voice for many years and just retired from directing an auditioned youth choir in St. Charles MO, St. Charles County Youth Choir.

Years ago, I ordered the Singles Collection. The website was not cooperating and I fired off an email to the webmaster letting him know I was trying to order the set, but the website wouldn't let me. He immediately answered and told me I would receive the 3 CD set for free. There was a problem with the site, and it was fixed very quickly. The web master was very much a class act! Later that day, I received an email directly from Bobby! We emailed back and forth a couple of times and I told him I had become a musician. I saved the emails off of the server and now I will always treasure it. Rest in Peace, Bobby, and thanks for the music.

Dear Velline Family & Friends. It is with great sorrow that I write this email because we have lost someone so dear in our memories of growing up in the 50s& 60s.Even though I have moved 5 times since 1966, I still have my 45s & LPs. Learning of his passing brought memories flooding into my mind of his wonderful music playing at dances through the Midwest. He was not only a teen idol, but also a role model for all ages in the decades that followed. May you be comforted by the love that is being sent your way.

When I read about Bobby's passing I could not stop crying, I have been a fan since I was 12 years old, I am now 69 years old, 57 years. I still have all his records, have seen him in concert several times, and met him in a meet and greet twice. He was a lovely well mannered man, and excellent in concert. I remember my Dad getting tickets for my cousin and I, I also wanted "Run To Him" from the local music shop, Dad said no, we were going to the concert, I came home from school the next day, opened the door, and immediately heard "Run To Him" I cried, Dad had gone to the store to buy it for me, thanks Dad. I send all my love and condolences to Bobby's family, he will be greatly missed, continue to play his music, for the sweetest memories.

While today is a sad, sad day for all of us who loved Bobby...it is the day Bobby sings again for his beloved Karen. My thoughts and prayers go to his family. I am thankful for all the wonderful times. I am thankful for the positive impact Bobby had on my life in retirement!!!!!! I went back to work because of him....his story needs to be shared and I have done my best. My last visit with him was a month ago on my way to my 50th reunion and another session of "Bobby Vee lessons" with middle schoolers. I am thankful that we got to see the play at the History Theatre a week ago. There are so few words for such an incredible man. I'd say RIP, but I really hope he is busy singing.

I'll always remember the first time I heard Take Good Care of My Baby during 8th grade lunch--Bobby had me hooked and I followed him from that day on. May he rest in peace with the love of his life Karen and always "keep it rockin'." Thanks for the great music....

My wife and I were saddened to hear of Bobby’s death. He was a blessing to so many people through his music and personality. We saw him on his last visit to England in 2005 at the packed Floral Pavilion Theatre, New Brighton. It was a terrific evening in every way, and a lot of fun. More like a party than a performance. He had the stage lights low enough to see who he was singing for and respond with great good humour to all the cheering and requests. After the show he spent a very long time in conversation with the many fans who queued to buy another album, get his signature, or just have a short time with him. He said a lot to my wife and I about the importance of family. We prayed for him during the difficult last years of his life, and our prayers are with his family now. We give our thanks to God for such a good man. Thank you.

Hello!

I remember when school was out for the summer, I'd listen to the radio, and Bobby Vee always stood out among the rest of the pop singers of the day.  There was something unique in Bobby's voice that conveyed more to me than just the words he was singing; his music seemed to carry me on a journey, invoking feelings of anticipation of being told an incredible story with each song he sang.
My two favorites are "Run To Him", and "The Night Has A Thousand Eyes".

As a hobby I'm a pastel artist and I love doing portraits.  Recently I completed a portrait of Bobby which I'd like to share with Bobby and his fans. (It's attached). I enjoy drawing famous faces and I tend to "fall in love" with the "subjects" of my portraits and as well I did with Bobby while I worked on this.  His music played in my mind the whole time I worked on his portrait, and this is my way of showing my appreciation and love for Bobby and his music which helped make my childhood fondly memorable.  Thanks!

Peace and Blessings,

I have been a great fan of Bobby's music since 1959 when our car club, the Cavaliers,  had Bobby Vee and the Shadows play at the Wahpeton Armory.  I collected most all of his records and now CD's and listen to at least 2 or 3 of his songs every day.  Susie Baby was the first one.  I was lucky to be able to meet him as a 15 year old kid and will never forget it.  His music is the greatest. Two of my 72 year old buddies still talk about it when we get together.  He is good for us.
